Hello
As a wife and mother of three, I know the ins and outs of parenthood, from the joys to the challenges. My mission is to support families like yours, making those early days with your newborn as beautiful and stress-free as possible. I provide tailored care that addresses every aspect of your baby’s and your family’s needs. My goal is to ensure your newborn gets the best start in life while you feel supported and confident as a parent.
My Story
Hi! My name is Deyonta Berryman. I’m an Advanced Newborn Care Specialist, certified birth and postpartum doula, and breastfeeding educator, providing newborn care and postpartum support to families in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas.
My journey into child care began when I was just a kid, inspired by my mom’s dedication to her in-home child care center. This passion led me to serve as an Early Childhood Educator for 18 years, specializing in early childhood development (0-5 years). I also partnered and worked extensively with Early Intervention programs for newborns through 3 years old.
In 2014, I transitioned from the structured classroom setting to become a private nanny. My very first family was with twin girls born at 34 weeks gestational age. One of the twins required finger feeding, then transitioned to cup feeding. It was during this time, providing support and building relationships with families, that I discovered the wonderful world of a Newborn Care Specialist. Over the years, I’ve provided newborn care to multiple families, and in 2021, I transitioned to a full-time Newborn Care Specialist.
I am affiliated with Newborn Developmental Monitoring and provide postpartum support for local moms of NICU graduates. My hands-on care includes support and education for NICU graduates, ensuring they get the best start possible. I also advocate for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and SUID (Sudden Unexplained Infant Death) awareness and prevention.
I work closely with families to establish healthy bedtime routines, assist with feedings, and model how to handle common issues like colic, gas, and excessive crying. I have hands-on experience caring for circumcision and umbilical cords, and providing postpartum support to moms and families.
As a mother of three, I strive to be an integral part of the support system for every family I assist. I pride myself on being a reliable source of information, empowering moms and families. Through effective communication and empathy, I build strong connections with families, creating a nurturing atmosphere that allows them to embrace the joys of parenthood with confidence.
